Clear rules for creative work.
Buying and keeping downloads
Usagita sells digital goods only—nothing physical is shipped. A free buyer account is required so every completed order appears in My Pattern Library. The order confirmation also presents an immediate download button.
Each seller defines the license for their pattern or file. Read the plain-language summary and detailed terms before buying; personal and commercial permissions can differ by product.
What sellers may publish
Usagita is for independent creators and original digital work: patterns, printables, templates, and creative resources you made or have documented permission to sell.
- No mass-produced or resold files presented as handmade work.
- No unauthorized copyrighted characters, brands, artwork, or other intellectual property.
- No scans or copies from books, magazines, or other publications.
- Describe materials, compatibility, included files, and license terms honestly.
- Up to 20 listing images and 10 downloadable PDF, SVG, or PNG files are allowed. Optional video never improves search ranking.
Before publishing, sellers attest that they have the necessary rights and authorization, comply with marketplace policies, do not knowingly infringe third-party intellectual-property rights, and accept legitimate post-publication enforcement.
You do not need a registered company, product barcode, existing catalog, or a particular country of residence to open a shop.
Creator ownership and private assets
Creators retain ownership of their digital products. Usagita receives only the permissions needed to store, process, secure, back up, display seller-authorized previews and metadata, deliver purchases, support users, and perform legitimate moderation or legal functions. Uploading does not grant Usagita unrestricted commercial reuse, derivative-product, or AI/model-training rights in the protected product contents.
Uploaded product files are private; listing previews and metadata are public. Usagita personnel may access product files only when reasonably necessary for support, security, moderation, fraud prevention, legal, or operational purposes.
Fees without surprises
Payments go directly to the seller through PayPal. New completed sales accrue a 5% Usagita fee. Pay accrued fees at any time in Seller Payments. UTC monthly statements are due on the first day of the second following month (July sales are due September 1). Overdue balances suspend new sales and publication until paid. Existing buyers keep access. Verified refunds receive proportional fee credits; excess credit applies to future fees. PayPal may charge its own fees.
Publish, report, respond
Sellers must provide the required listing information and confirm their rights to sell. Listings must meet Usagita’s publishing requirements and marketplace policies.
Published listings can be reported for intellectual-property concerns, prohibited or illegal content, fraud, material differences from the description, malicious files, or other policy violations. Usagita may dismiss a report, request information, warn the seller, suspend, restore, remove, or escalate. Action history and seller responses are retained; suspension is preferred over destroying the underlying asset while a case or appeal may be reviewed.
Copyright complaints follow a notice-and-action model. Sellers are responsible for their rights; Usagita can disable allegedly infringing material and process complaints without claiming to make a definitive legal ownership determination.
File safety
Buyers should use the normal file protections provided by their browser, PDF reader, and device.
